Dubai: After Shoaib Malik, India has a new Pakistani son-in-law in fast bowler Hasan Ali. Shoaib married Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in 2010 and they have a son. Hasan Ali is now married to Indian aeronautical engineer Shamia Arzoo. They tied the nuptial knot in Dubai recently.
Selected friends and relatives graced the wedding. According to Hasan, he first met Shamia at a dinner party and they talked. Friendship turned to love, and finally marriage.
Shamia hails from Haryana and the family lives in Dubai. Some relatives of theirs also stay in Delhi. His father Liaquat Ali is a retired officer.
Despite marrying a Pakistani cricketer, Shamia made no bones in admitting that she is a Virat Kohli fan on an Instagram show a few days ago. “My favorite cricketer is Virat Kohli.”
Hasan has so far played 13 Tests, 54 ODIs and 36 T20Is for Pakistan. He played a stellar role in Pakistan’s victory in the Champions Trophy in 2016. The right-arm medium-pacer has donned the Pakistan cap in the Champions Trophy, Asia Cup and World Cup against India.
Besides Shoaib and Hasan, another former Pakistan cricketer Mohsin Khan was also married to Bollywood actor Reena Roy, but later separated.
