New Delhi: Former top West Bengal bureaucrat Alapan Bandyopadhyay, who is at the heart of the latest clash between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is believed to have replied to Centre’s show-cause notice. He is accused of skipping the prime minister’s meeting in Kalaikunda last week.
Former Chief Secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay has reportedly written that he did not “abstain” from PM Modi’s Cyclone Yaas meeting and that he was there “till the Chief Minister was there”.
Bandyopadhyay reportedly said “as per the directive of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee”, he left the meeting for a review of the Cyclone Yaas damage in Digha town, sources was quoted by news agency PTI.
The ex-Bengal Chief Secretary was transferred to the Centre just a day before his retirement for allegedly staying away from PM Modi’s meet along with Mamata Banerjee last Friday.
