AAP Brand Ambassador Sonu Sood’s Mumbai & Lucknow Offices Searched By Income Tax Department: Is Saffron Party Peeved With Him?

Mumbai: Is he paying the price for being magnanimous? Or is his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) connection proving to be a bane? Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood’s office premises in Mumbai and Mumbai are being surveyed by officials of the Income Tax department and this raises eyebrows for sure.

According to The Indian Express, the officials are trying to ascertain a land deal between Sood’s company and a real estate firm in Lucknow after complaints of tax evasion were lodged.

Incidentally, the raid is preceded by the AAP government’s decision to appoint him as the face of its Desh Ka Mentor campaign in Delhi. And it is an open secret that AAP convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been a staunch critic of the Union government led by the BJP.

So, are we reading between the lines? The law will take its own course but a person who has playes a phenomenal role during the pandemic may not have deserved such a humiliation.

We are watching!
