Birmingham: The All England Open 2021 which was about to start on March 17 has been thrown into a state of chaos after three Indian players tested positive for the coronavirus. The names of the players have not been divulged yet.
India’s coach Mathias Boe stated to sport.tv2.dk that, “We have three players and one member from the support staff who have tested positive. I find it completely absurd how this can happen, since we have been isolated in Zurich since the Swiss Open started two weeks ago.” He also raised questions in the authenticity of the reports.
Parupalli Kashyap’s test result was found to be indecisive, Saina Nehwal still waited for hers. Saina had earlier complained about her lack of practice for this tournament. The indecisive results had delayed the tournament by almost 5 hours.
