Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a 2-day tour to West Bengal, had dinner at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly’s home on Friday evening. The visit is believed to be a courtesy call.

Shah arrived at Ganguly’s residence in a white SUV surrounded by security guards. Shah was seen waving his hand to a crowd that had gathered outside the BCCI president’s home.

Shah then was seen having dinner with Ganguly and his family members.

The 49-year-old former India captain earlier told reporters that nothing political should be read into the dinner meeting. According to him, he knows Amit Shah for over a decade and has met him often.

“…We have a lot to talk about. I have known him since 2008. When I used to play, we met but not so much as I used to be on tour,” Ganguly had told reporters earlier on Friday. “I work with his son. It is an old association,” Ganguly added.
