BCCI Names Six Venues With Bio-Secure Bubble For Syed Mushtaq Ali T20

Mumbai: The BCCI has announced the name of six centres for the bio-bubble creation ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, which is slated to begin from the 10th of January.

The cricket board is all set to welcome back domestic cricket in the fold after COVID-19 outbreak forced everything to come to a halt. The last instance of domestic cricket was back in March when the Ranji Trophy took place.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah put an email to all the state associations naming the six centres where the tournament would be staged. Bangalore, Kolkata, Vadodara, Indore, Mumbai and Chennai will serve as hosts to the 38 teams. The teams have been divided into five Elite groups of A, B, C, D and E. There are also eight new teams in the competition.

The eight new sides in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament’s edition of 2021 are Chandigarh, Bihar and outfits from the NorthEast will be a part of the Plate group. Mumbai is part of Elite Group E and will play all their matches on their home soil.
