Kolkata: There have been surprises aplenty in the Indian political scene of late. Taking from SR Bommai pipping BS Yediyurappa to Karnataka Chief Minister’s chair to Sukanta Majumdar replacing Dilip Ghosh as BJP president in Bengal, all have been done without much ado and beyond expectations.

BJP is not the only party to spring surprises, the internal feud in Congress also saw veteran Captain Amarinder Singh making way for Charanjit Singh Channi.
