Kolkata: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will begin the Bengal T20 Challenge tentatively on September 2. The second edition of the competition would comprise of six teams to prepare the players for the upcoming domestic season. This was decided at an Apex Council Meeting held at Eden Gardens on Saturday.
The CAB also intends to start the season early with JC Mukherjee Trophy from tentatively from September 22, according to a media release.
CAB will set up a modern cricket academy with a full-size cricket ground inside the North Bengal University Campus.
The district tournaments would commence in October-end while women’s tournaments would tentatively start from November.
The state government has agreed to provide 14 acres of land in Dumurjala on a 99-year lease.
The transfer of players would begin on September 1 and would continue till September 15.
