Mumbai: The journey of Tvesha Ashish Jain started at the age of 3 and by the time she is six, there are as many as 26 tournament wins under her belt.
The standard I student of the Green Lawns High school created a flutter by bagging the silver medal with 6/7 points in the international meet held in Sri Lanka held recently. Tvesha finished with the silver among 89 participants from India, Sri Lanka and Australia.
Tvesha’s coach Veeresh Tammireddy is over the moon with the kid’s performance. “She is a great talent compared to his age,” coach Veeresh told The Lateralz on Friday.
On how Tvesha developed her interest in the 64-square board, the coach said it was first spotted by her parents Ashish and Bhavini. “When her father was playing chess at home, she was glued to the chessboard when she was only three. That drove the family to put her under training at the South Mumbai Chess Academy’s (SMCA) Walkeshwar Centre,” Veeresh said.
