Congrats Pakistan, Didn’t We Predict? Yet Defeat Could Be Blessing In Disguise For Kohli’s Boys

Kolkata: As an Indian, it’s painful and indeed a sordid affair, when you taste defeat against Pakistan in any discipline. But if you are broad minded, give it to these guys from across the border – Babar Azam and his mates simply decimated Virat Kohli and Company in the prestigious encounter in the ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai on Sunday.

A high-voltage game where Pakistan did everything possible to score over India and a thumping 10-wicket victory is a vindication of the invincibility of the Men in Green. Be it in batting or bowling, they turned out to be a far better side and barring Kohli’s lone battle, Indians displayed meek surrender which may not augur well for the side with an eye on the all-important tournament.

Yet, let’s not throw our hands in despair because one defeat doesn’t really draw your nemesis. We agree, loss to Pakistan dents your confidence of course, if you are an Indian, yet all is not lost yet.

The tournament is wide open and it is high time the Indian Team Management ensures the shoulders do not drop a bit. It’s easier said than done, but one match shouldn’t be so defining. Put aside the debacle and look ahead – you guys have a mentor in MS Dhoni and a skipper in Kohli who refuse to surrender at any point and it is here that their roles would play a key part in driving the team to greener pastures.

For Pakistan, finally a win over India in a World Cup – a huge impetus for sure, but do not take it as the end of the journey – usually for those fanatics and hardliners in the strife-torn country, a victory against India is more precious than winning a tournament. Do not forget, you fools, the mission is far from over.

To go back to where we started, yes disappointments creep in and so does frustration, but a clinical show in the days to come would somewhat dissuade us from sobbing out of the setback of this loss. Life is bigger than one match, guys!

Congrats Azam, but a dangerous India hopefully would emerge from this shock! We are confident!
