New Delhi: The registration for the third phase of COVID vaccination beginning on May 1 could not start on time on Wednesday, as the server of the government’s dedicated vaccination website — CoWIN — crashed soon after the registration process got underway.

Everyone above 18 years will be eligible to get inoculated against COVID-19 in the third phase of the vaccination drive.

The government had declared that registration for the 18-plus population would begin on http://cowin.gov.in, Aarogya Setu App and UMANG App from 4 pm on Wednesday.

However, the sites crashed sharp at 4 pm due to heavy load. A Twitter user by the name of Atul Mathur tweeted, “As expected, the Arogya Setu and Co-WIN app crashed within minutes of the starting of registration for Covid vaccine for 18+. Nothing, absolutely nothing works without glitches here.”
