Kolkata: Versatile actress Swara Bhasker has once again ruffled feathers. A criminal complaint has been filed against Swara by New Delhi-based advocate, Yukti Rathi over the former’s tweet that allegedly equated ‘Hindutva Terror’ with Taliban atrocities.

Reacting to the Taliban comeback in Afghanistan, Swara had written, “We can’t be okay with Hindutva terror & be all shocked & devastated at Taliban terror.. & We can’t be chill with #Taliban terror; and then be all indignant about #Hindutva terror! Our humanitarian & ethical values should not be based on identity of the oppressor or oppressed.”

An enraged Rathi posted a copy of her complaint on Twitter and wrote, “This tweet is hurting my sentiments as an Indian and as a Hindu I have filed a criminal complaint against @ReallySwara for creating hatred between communities and hurting my sentiments Pls take action @myogiadityanath @shalabhmani @Uppolice @HinduEcosystem_ @KapilMishra_IND.” She tagged among others, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Uttar Pradesh police in her rebuttal to Swara’s post (below is the link)

Yukti whose Twitter bio introduces her as “Advocate, Writer, Activist, Nationalist, Working for Hindu Human rights, fearlessly authentic,” has sought immediate action against the actress.

In fact, Swara has been heavily trolled after her controversial post (check the links below).

This is not the first time that Swara has stoked ire with her acerbic social media posts. Time and again she has taken digs at the establishment (read BJP government) which has drawn flak all over. It remains to be seen which direction this episode takes, but knowing Swara, she would not relent and would continue to speak her mind. We are watching!
