Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper and a five-year-old boy were killed on Friday (June 26) when terrorists attacked a team of security forces in Bijbehara of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. “Terrorists fired upon CRPF party at #Bijbehara #Anantnag resulting in the death of a #minor #boy and a CRPF personnel. Area cordoned off. Case registered,” the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The terrorists had opened fire at a road opening party of CRPF’s 90 Battalion near the Padshahi Bagh bridge in the Bijbehara area at around 12:10 pm, as per reports in PTI. The CRPF personnel and the boy were injured in the attack and were taken to a hospital where both of them succumbed, the official said. He said security forces have cordoned off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
Later on, the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “#Police has identified #killer of minor boy and CRPF personnel. Zahid Daas, a #terrorist of JKIS outfit, is found to be involved in today’s attack at #Bijbehara. Police have registered FIR against him by name.” In another incident, at least two unidentified terrorists were killed by security forces on June 26 during a gunfight, which was raging since Thursday (June 25) evening in Jammu and Kashmir.
