New Delhi: The domestic and international passengers will be able to take a COVID-19 test before their departures at the Delhi Airport.
On September 12, the Delhi airport started the COVID-19 testing facility, but it was available to the international arrivals so far.
Last month, on October 28, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), in association with Genestrings Diagnostic Centre Pvt. Ltd. had set up a COVID-19 sample collection booth at the gate no. 8 of the Terminal III for the passengers who taking international and domestic flights.
The DIAL and GMR group began the COVID-19 testing facility for the international passengers on September 12 at the multi-level car parking area of Terminal III. This step was taken in collaboration with Genestrings Diagnostic Centre, which is a group company of Yashoda Hospitals.
Since March 23, the imposition of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the scheduled international flights have been suspended in the country.
Although, special international passenger flights have been operated in India under the Vande Bharat Mission since May. Also, bilateral air bubble arrangements were formed between Ifni and several other countries since July.
The domestic passenger flights in India began on May 25 after a gap of about two months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
