Kolkata: FC Goa pipped Kolkata’s Mohammedan Sporting Club 1-0 in the final to clinch their maiden Durand Cup at the Salt Lake Stadium.
The tournament was seen as a warm-up for India’s domestic football season. More than 34,000 fans and supporters turned up at the ground on Sunday.
The all-important goal came in the 106th minute when Goa captain Edu Bedia curled in a beautiful free-kick from roughly 25 yards to seal the fate.
