New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is being interrogated in connection with a money laundering case in the National Herald newspaper case, has again been asked to appear for further questioning on Tuesday, according to NDTV sources said.
It may be recalled that Rahul Gandhi and his mother and Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi had been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for interrogation in alleged money laundering in connection with the National Herald newspaper case. Following a trial court taking note of an Income Tax Department’s probe against Young Indian Pvt Ltd, the central agency filed the money laundering case recently.
The case also pertains to allegations of cheating, conspiracy, and criminal breach of trust in the acquisition of the Associated Journals Limited which ran the newspaper by Young Indian Pvt Ltd.
However, Congress has accused the ruling BJP government of “vendetta politics”. Gandhi’s questioning began on Monday morning amid a police crackdown on a protest staged by Congress.
