Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and seven others including Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker and Gomit Chopra have been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, in the alleged cruise drug racket bust case on Sunday. The raid resulted in the seizure of 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA.
According to Hindustan Times, Aryan has been taken to Mumbai’s JJ Hospital for medical check-up.
Aryan was earlier questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of the Mumbai Police over drug abuse in a rave party on a Cordelia Cruises ship off the Mumbai coast. Sources claimed, Aryan had broken down and admitted to having used drugs during the bash. His phone was seized for scanning that unravelled chat records which subsequently pushed investigating officers to apprehend him.
Cordelia has denied any involvement in the rave party stating the ship was ‘chartered’ to an event management company. “Cordelia Cruises is in no way, directly or indirectly, connected to this incident. Cordelia Cruises had chartered its ship for a private event to a Delhi-based event management company. We are extending our full support and cooperating with the authorities,” read an official statement from the company.
Meanwhile actor Suniel Shetty who starred with Shah Rukh in Main Hoon Na wants to wait and watch. “When a raid is conducted at a place, many people are taken into custody. We assume that a particular boy must have consumed it (drugs). The process is on. Let’s give that child a breather. Let real reports come out,” he said as quoted by ANI.
