New Delhi: On Thursday, a senior government officials said that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued directions to take “suitable” actions against officials who denied information about the Aarogya Setu app to a Right to Information (RTI) applicant.
Appropriate actions are to be taken against these officials as directed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
“We are committed to furnish all the information sought under the RTI Act to the applicant and comply with the directions of Central Information Commission”, said a ministry official.
The action by the IT ministry comes a day after the Central Information Commission (CIC) ordered the Ministry, NIC, and NeGD to provide an elusive reply on Aarogya Setu app.
The CIC passed an order on a complaint filed by RTI activist Saurav Das.
The copy of the entire file related to the creation of the Aarogya Setu app were asked by Das, including the origin of proposal, approval details, companies involved, but he was not provided with any of the information.
