Bollywood Drug Case
Soon after the shocking demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, ‘Bollywood drug case’ emerged with NCB and ED’s probe.
Deepika was also named in the Bollywood Drug nexus where NCB had revealed her chats with other actresses asking for ‘hash’. She was also summoned by the anti-drug agency.
Remember the time when Deepika Padukone was spotted in the campus of a highly controversial education institute, Jawaharlal Nehru University? All eyes were on the Bollywood actress as she joined JNU students in their protests and condemn the attack on students.
Last year, in the early January, Deepika Padukone irked many netizens as she stood in support JNU students. While many appreciated the actress’ move there were others who mercilessly trolled the actress. Her film, Chhapaak was just about to get released, hence many termed it as a publicity stunt.
Deepika found herself in the midst of a controversy in 2017 ahead of the release of her period drama, Padmaavat.
The film was ealier named as Padmavati which was based on the legend of Rani Padmini of Chittor and a few fringe groups said the film wrongly implies a romantic relationship between the queen and Emperor Alauddin Khilji.
She was even threatened by Karni Sena with physical harm and as a result, the Mumbai police had to provide her with a special security force. Amidst the controversy, many agitated people vandalized movie theaters as well.
Ram Leela Controversy
Deepika has a big relationship with movies and controversies. The Ranveer Singh and Deepika-starrer was originally titled as Ram Leela and was disapproved by many due to its association with the name of Hindu god, Lord Ram.
The Jalandhar police filed an FIR against director Sanjay Bhansali and lead actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
The title of the film was then changed from Ram Leela to Goliyoon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. Screening stalled, posters burned, Ramleela was in the midst of controversies when it released in 2013.
Unless you live under the rock, it is a well-known news that Bollywood’s heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were in a relationship for a long time. The diva had even gotten his name tattooed on her back, much to the surprise of her fans.
