Kolkata: From one champion for the other. Former Indian cricketer and currently deputy minister of sports in the West Bengal government, Manoj Tiwary can’t conceal his excitement after meeting Olympics gold-medal winning athlete Neeraj Chopra in the city today.
The javelin thrower was felicitated in the City of Joy today and Tiwary was witness to the humbleness of the lad from Haryana. Chopra also participated in a chat show Tahader Katha, which was a Satadru Dutta initiative.
Tiwary wrote on his Instagram, “Met him today at an event here in Kolkata, I tell you that he is one of the few humblest athletes I have come across. May he remain the same in the future as well. Mark my word he will get minimum one more Gold for our country in Olympics…”
The felicitation ceremony was also attended by several distinguished personalities including state fire minister Sujit Bose, industrialist Harsh Neotia and others.
We are hopeful too.
