New Delhi: Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea, who is jailed and accused of Sheena Bora murder in 2021, wrote to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and claimed that Sheena is actually alive. Mukerjea has asked for a detailed probe lending a new twist to the sensational murder mystery.

Indrani claims that she came across a woman prisoner who told her she had met Sheena Bora in Kashmir, according to sources. “She wrote to the CBI, we have no details of what she wrote,” her lawyer Sana Khan was quoted as saying by NDTV. She added that she would move a formal bail application.

Forty-nine-year-old Indrani Mukerjea has been lodged in Byculla prison in Mumbai since 2015. She was put under arrest for the murder of her daughter from first marriage 25-year-old Sheena Bora.

Three months post her arrest, her husband Peter Mukerjea was also taken into custody on charges of conniving with Indrani.

Investigations revealed that Sheena Bora was murdered by Indrani Mukerjea and that her driver Shyamvar Rai and her second husband Sanjeev Khanna helped her in the crime.
