Kolkata: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that India’s tour of South Africa will start on December 26. This was among the eight decisions made in the board’s 90th Annual General Meeting (AGM) here on Saturday.
“India’s tour of South Africa, 2021-22, will proceed with the revised dates and itinerary. The team will participate in a three-match Test series followed by a three-match ODI series starting December 26th, 2021,” read the BCCI statement.
The tour of South Africa has been under cloud following the surge of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the rainbow nation.
Among other decisions made at the AGM were Brijesh Patel and M Khairul Jamal Majumdar’s re-induction as representatives in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council. Also, former India spinner Pragyan Ojha has been chosen as the representative of the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) in the cash-rich league’s Governing Council.
