Ranchi: The Indian Railways on Monday, has decided to run 20 pairs of special trains for the candidates of Joint Entrance Examination (Main), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and National Defence Academy examinations from September 2 to 15 in Bihar.
Sharing the information, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted, “Indian Railways has decided to run 20 pairs of MEMU / DEMU special trains from September 2 to 15 for the convenience of candidates joining JEE Mains, NEET and NDA in Bihar.”

As per the railway ministry officials, candidates appearing for the examinations will be able to buy tickets for special trains from booking counters as well as from the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) on the mobile application.
Earlier, Goyal had said that Indian Railways has allowed the candidates of JEE Main and NEET exams to travel by suburban train services in Mumbai.
In a press release, the minister also stated that students along with their parents or guardians will be permitted to travel by special suburban services on the days of exam.
Many other states like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh are also helping students with their accommodation and free travel due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
