Mumbai: Former media executive Indrani Mukerjea was released from Mumbai’s Byculla women’s prison on Friday. She was arrested for allegedly murdering her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012.
Indrani refused to speak about the case and her sensational claim that her daughter was still alive, but said “forgiven the people who had hurt her”.
“I cannot talk about the case right now. The matter is sub-judice… I think I have seen life from a different lens now. I have met people from all walks of life. It’s been a journey. I have learnt to be patient,” she was quoted as saying by NDTV.
“I am so happy,” 50-year-old Indrani told the reporters. “I learnt a lot in jail. I am going home. I have no plans. Just want to go home,” she said.
Indrani Mukerjea walked out of jail around 5.30 pm and stepped into the lawyer’s car and drove to her flat in Worli.
