Kabul: Internal squabble within the rank and file of the Taliban seems to be throwing a spanner in the government formation as per sources quoted by BBC.
According to a new report by BBC, a major verbal duel erupted on the composition of the set up between acting deputy PM Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and a member of the caretaker government at the presidential palace. A source from the insurgent group informed BBC Pashto that Baradar and Khalil ur-Rahman, refugee minister and an important part of the Haqqani network had an altercation while their supporters came to blows.
A Qatar based senior Taliban leader has confirmed that an exchange of barbs had indeed taken place during a recent meeting. Baradar, as per sources is peeved at the structure of the government following which he left for Kandahar though Baradar himself in a purported video has refuted any disenchantment which has been officially endorsed by the Taliban.
There are also stories doing the rounds that Baradar would clear the air in a video message after his return from Kandahar.
