Dubai: Delhi Capitals continued their winning run in this year’s Indian Premier League as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 59 runs in Dubai on Monday.
Batting first, the Delhi batsmen started from where they left off with Shikhar Dhawan (32) and Prithvi Shaw (42) putting on 68 runs for the opening wicket. Their middle-order didn’t have much of an impact but Marcus Stoinis struck six fours and two sixes to score a 26-ball 53 to propel Delhi to 196/4.
In response, Bangalore had a day to forget with the bat with only skipper Virat Kohli scoring 43 and others failing even to cross the 30-run mark. Eventually, they fell short by 59 runs. For Delhi, Kagiso Rabada was the star bowler with four wickets for 24 runs.
Brief scores: Delhi Capitals 196/4 (Stoinis 53, Shaw 42; Siraj 2/34) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore 137/9 (Kohli 43, Sundar 17; Rabada 4/24) by 59 runs.
