Kolkata: West Bengal ruling party, Trinamool Congress (TMC) lodged an FIR against actress Kangana Ranaut for inciting communal violence through her posts after the election results were announced on Sunday.
TMC spokesperson Riju Dutta, a resident of Raja Mahindra road here, lodged an FIR at the Ultadanga Police Station on Thursday.
“Ms Ranaut has posted several posts from her verified official Instagram handle bearing @kanganaranaut in the ‘Stories’ sections. She has also distorted and maligned the image of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal – Smt. Mamata Banerjee. Hence she is to be charged against hate propaganda to incite violence in West Bengal,” the complaint read.
Her Twitter account was permanently suspended following the posts. Following that, Kangana has been posting several offensive stories on her Instagram account.
Since joining Twitter last year, the controversial actress had been active on social media mostly posting sensitive things that went against the community standards of the social networking site.
Following the FIR, the actress has retorted by immediately issuing a statement. “Ironic that the bloodthirsty monster Mamata who is openly killing and lynching those who did not vote for her is accusing me of communal violence, Monster Mamata this is the beginning of your end, whole country is watching innocents blood is on your hands you cannot scare me or not kill my voice with many cases or FIR’s,” Kangana said.
