Kolkata: A person named Sutirtha Das in Kolkata returned home to a surprise when he found himself with a shortened version of Bhagwat Gita instead of the Communist Manifesto that he had ordered online on e-commerce website Amazon. Das had ordered the book at a discounted price of Rs 140 and received an automated message of the order confirmation that will receive the package by June 10 to June 12.
On June 13, he received an automated message that the book is out for delivery. However, he soon after received a call from a lady believed to be a telecaller in the afternoon asking him to reject the package, saying it had the wrong book. Das could not reject the package as he was at his office.
On returning to his home in the evening to his surprise he found an abridged version of Bhagwat Gita of 120 pages, even though the invoice mentioned Communist Manifesto. He also shared the pictures on Facebook. Amazon delivering Bhagwat Gita instead of the Communist Manifesto has raised some of the laugh around social media.
