Mumbai: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar died at the age of 92 here on Sunday following a multi-organ failure late on Saturday night.
Earlier on Saturday, a senior doctor treating her at the Breach Candi Hospital had said she was in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Lata Mangeshkar was rushed to Mumbai based Breach Candy Hospital after she was diagnosed with pneumonia and also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in January. She was on the ventilator for weeks but on January 28, she was taken off the ventilator after showing improvement signs.
Shiv Sena Parliamentarian Sanjay Raut was among the firsts to share the news on social media. “The era is over,” he wrote in Marathi on Twitter
