Kolkata: In a major incentive for the medical sector in the state, the Mamata Banerjee-government in West Bengal has decided to allocate free lands to doctors and nurses for residential purpose.
“We are allocating 10 acres of land on behalf of the government. This land will be given for free. Doctors and nurses will be able to build houses there,” Banerjee told the media today after holding a review meeting at the SSKM Hospital. Banerjee added that a 10-storey hostel would be constructed on Lee Road for doctors and nurses.
Male nurses have plenty to look forward to as they would be designated as Practitioner Sister from now on. They will fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the guidelines of the doctors.
The CM added that she would hold another review meeting at the SSKM Hospital on September 16.
