Ludhiana: A man allegedly blackmailed his wife by capturing her objectionable pictures using a spy camera in his bathroom. The 23-year-old woman has filed a complaint against him. She is now staying at her parents’ home. Incidentally, no arrest has been made yet.
The woman in her complaint said her husband installed cameras in the bathroom without her knowledge and took those photos. She added that he also demanded Rs 20 lakh or he would circulate her photos on social media platforms.
She alleged that her mother-in-law and her brothers acted as cahoots in the act. Assistant sub-inspector Gurdev Singh said that the woman claimed that her husband had already posted some of her photos as his WhatsApp status.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the sections of 67 and 67-A of the IT Act, 2000, based on the complaint of the woman. The ASI said that the names of the accused will be added to the FIR later after inquiries. He further added that police are in the process to arrest them.
In another incident, in Thane district of Maharashtra, a man allegedly murdered his wife after a nude video with her lover went viral on social media. The accused has been identified as Rafique Mohammad Yunus (50) who on Wednesday, after seeing the video, stabbed his wife to death at his sister’s house on Nagaon road in Bhiwandi. He later went to Shanti Nagar police station with the blood-stained knife and surrendered himself.
