Mumbai: Mumbai Police has filed a case against a businessman, 75, in connection with a rape case of a woman, 35, in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
“A 75-year-old businessman raped a 35-year-old writer in a five-star hotel located in the Juhu area of Mumbai. On the basis of the woman’s complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under various sections of the IPC and got involved in further investigation,” a police officer was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
According to police, the accused threatened the rape victim by dropping underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s name and said that if she complained to the police, he will get killed.
The woman registered a complaint against the businessman at Amboli police station here.
The accused had allegedly taken a loan of ₹ 2 crore from the woman but did not pay it back. Also, when the victim tried to raise her voice, the accused businessman and a few Dawood Ibrahim associates directly threatened that if she says anything to anyone about this, they will get her killed, the agency reported.
