Mumbai: Mithali Raj became the first ever woman cricketer to reach the 7000 odi run milestone after scoring 45 runs against South Africa. With his feat, she became the leading run scorer in women’s cricket.
She reached the landmark during her partnership with Punam Raut during the ongoing fourth ODI in Lucknow. She has been creating and reaching milestones on a flow now.
In her previous match, she became the first ever Indian woman cricketer to reach the 10,000 run milestone and also the second in the world.
Mithali went past England’s Charlotte Edwards as the highest women’s ODI run scorer.
Charlotte had registered 5992 runs in her career achievements list which had lasted nearly two decades. Although She remains the highest women’s run scorer with 10,273 runs, Mithali has her sights set on that as well.
Mithali Raj, made her debut in the year 1999 against Ireland and the 38yr old is currently playing her 213th ODI.
She has a record 54 half centuries in her name and seven centuries. She is one of the greatest women cricketers to have ever played the game and is a pride to our Nation.
