The Mohun Bagan and East Bengal joined the Indian Super League and merged with ATK which is sponsored by Shree Cements. The football fans feared that this year’s I-league season will be held without the giant Kolkata participant.

Now, those fears will not be there anymore as Mohammedan SC have now qualified for the I-League.

Before the match, a well-rehearsed free-kicking routine from Mohammedan side ended with Vanlalbiaa Chhangte smashing the ball across the goal, but Shilton Paul was successful in keeping the ball away from the net.

Mohammedan opened its score with exchanging the passes between Willis Plaza and Chhangte. After this, Sheikh Faiaz cleverly flicked and set Chhangte through on Paul. He finally rounded off the goalkeeper and finished into the empty net.
