Mumbai: The famous throw of 87.58 metres in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 javelin final has been career-defining in Neeraj Chopra’s life. This has actually shot up his brand value to make him scale the ladder pretty quickly.

The champion athlete’s popularity took an upward and is now considered the new poster boy of Indian sports. According to various sources, Neeraj’s brand endorsement fees has reportedly increased by 1000 per cent with only Virat Kohli arguably being the only Indian sportsperson ahead of him in endorsements.

Chopra, who has been making only Rs 15-25 lakh per endorsement yearly prior to the Tokyo Olympics, is now in talks to sign new deals which are almost 10 times the money. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohl is currently the only sportsperson in India to be charging a fee to the tune of Rs 1 to 5 crore.

With the meteoric rise in his stature as well as endorsement fees, Chopra also comes in the same bracket. This hike in endorsement fees, however, took Chopra ahead of other cricket stars Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Both of whom have been reportedly charging between Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore annually.
