Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who has been unsettled following a rebellion in the party, had a 10-minute telephonic conversation with rebel minister Eknath Shinde. The turn of events has created a new political crisis in Maharashtra. NDTV sources said there was no breakthrough yet till late in the night.
According to NDTV, Eknath Shinde demanded that Sena returns to its alliance with the BJP to rule the state. It may be recalled that Shinde decamped for Surat, along with at least 21 other MLAs on Monday night.
It is learnt that Uddhav Thackeray had urged him to reconsider his decision and come back to the fold. Shinde, however, claimed that he has not taken any decision or signed any document, reported NDTV.
