New Delhi: A team of doctors from Delhi’s AIIMS dismissed the theories of poisoning and strangling, said the actor Sushant Singh Rajput was not murdered and it is a case of suicide.
The AIIMS Panel is over with the examination process and closed the file after giving conclusive medico-legal opinion to CBI which will be verifying the reports with their investigation, as per the sources.
CBI seems continue its investigation into ‘abetment to suicide’.
Sources said that AIIMS panel agreed with the opinion of the Mumbai hospital that had carried out the autopsy pf the actor, which found ‘asphyxia due to hanging’ as the reason for death.
Circumstantial evidence also suggested that it was a case of suicide and not murder, added the source.
“All aspects are still open in the probe, if any evidence comes to light proving otherwise, Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (murder) will be added, but nothing has come up in 45 days of probe,” as per the sources.
CBI has been quoted saying, “All aspects are being looked into including murder angle. So far, no evidence has come up to prove it to be a case of murder. If during the course of investigation, we get any evidence, murder charge will be added”.
“For now, abetment to suicide and other charges in the FIR are being probed”.
The 34 year old Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.
Though the Mumbai police called it a suicide as per the autopsy reports, wide protests and campaigns of justice on social media by fan from all over the world and allegations by the family raised doubts and the case was handed over to CBI for investigation.
