Amstelveen: England scripted a world record by scoring 498 for four in the ongoing first ODI against the Netherlands at the VRA Cricket Ground here on Friday.
Previously also, England held the record of the highest total of 481 for six against Australia. England now have the top-three highest totals in the history of ODIs.
Jos Buttler top-scored with 162 off 70 balls, while Dawid Malan and Phil Salt also hit their maiden one-day tons. Liam Livingstone then smashed the joint second-fastest half century in ODI, off just 17 balls.
Earlier, the Netherlands captain Pieter Seelaar opted to bowl on winning the toss.
