Chamoli: A glacial burst in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district triggered an avalanche and massive flooding of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers on Sunday morning.
The avalanche was followed by a huge rise in water levels within the Dhauliganga river, which resulted in several houses being destroyed within the area.
As many as 150 laborers, who were performing on an influence project within the area, are missing at the instant. Rescue operations are underway. Floods have also been reported in Joshimath area.
According to reports, the floods have uprooted many homes within the area, leaving scores injured.
