Haridwar: Patanjali on Tuesday (June 23) launched ‘Coronil and Swasari’, Ayurvedic medicine for the treatment of deadly COVID-19. The medicine was unveiled by yoga guru Swami Ramdev at a press conference at Patanjali’s headquarters in Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The Coronavirus kit which will include the medicine that will be made available at Rs 545 can be used for 30 days.
“The medicine has healed a COVID-19 patient within 3-7 days. Our clinical trials have proved the efficacy of the medicine to be 100 per cent. We are proud to present the first-ever ayurvedic medicine for the viral infection the world is grappling with. The medicine has been prepared by the combined efforts of Patanjali Research Centre and Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences,” Ramdev said in the press conference.

The company conducted two trials of these medicines. The first clinical controlled study took place in cities such as Delhi and Ahmedabad. “Under this study, a total of 280 patients had recovered. The medicines checked the complications and there was no loss of lives,” he added.
“We’ve prepared the first Ayurvedic-clinically controlled, research, evidence & trial based medicine for COVID-19. We conducted a clinical case study & clinical controlled trial, and found 69% of patients recovered in 3 days and 100% patients recovered in 7 days,” Ramdev was quoted as saying to ANI.

The tablet will be made available in the Patanjali stores in the next week, Ramdev said at the launch of the medicine. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Ayush has taken cognizance of news in media about ayurvedic medicines developed for COVID-19 treatment by Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. The company asked to provide details of medicines and to stop advertising or publicising such claims until the issue is duly examined.
Licence Officer of Uttarakhand Ayurved Department said on Wednesday (June 24), “As per Patanjali’s application, we issued them the license. They didn’t mention coronavirus, we only approved the license for immunity booster, cough & fever. We’ll issue them a notice asking how they got permission to make the kit (for COVID19),” reported ANI.
