Pregnant Afghan Woman Gunned Down At Her Home, Taliban Deny Role

Kabul: Contrary to the moderate image they are trying to depict, the Taliban allegedly shot dead a pregnant policewoman and also disfigured her face, according to BBC.

The gruesome incident took place on Saturday at Firizkoh, capital of central Ghor. The woman Banu Negar was gunned down at her residence in front of her kids and rest of her family members.

However the insurgent group refuted responsibility behind her murder. Spokesman Zabiullah Mujaheed said, “We are aware of the incident and I am confirming that the Taliban have not killed her, our investigation is ongoing.”

Mujaheed added the Taliban had announced an amnesty for those employed with the previous administration, and termed Negar’s murder as “personal enmity or something else”.

However, BBC claimed that three sources corroborated that it was the Taliban who committed the heinous crime. PTI quotes BBC, “Graphic images showed blood spattered on the wall in the corner of a room and a body, while the face was heavily disfigured, the report said.”
