New Delhi: Amidst the border tension between India and China in Ladakh, Chinese President, Xi Jinping, asked the army in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to be prepared for war.

Jinping asked his army to put all “its minds and energy on preparing for war” at a time when the seventh round of the Corps Commander talk ended in a deadlock.

Jinping made these remarks while visiting a Marine Corps base in the Guangdong province. “Xi Jinping pointed out that we must put all our minds and energy on preparing for war and maintain a state of high alert”, the Xinghua report said.

Xi asked the Marine Corps commanders to concentrate on fostering their troops’ preparedness and suggested them stay on high alert.

More war training are to be carried out to enhance skills and efforts should be made in terms of combat theories, training methods and task planning, as he adviced.

“And ensure that the troops are absolutely loyal, absolutely pure, and absolutely reliable”, Xi said.

It was not clear if Xi aimed at India or the US as China is involved in a tense situation with both the countries.

Indian Army said that the discussions were positive, constructive and called for understanding of each other’s positions after the seventh round of military level talks.

The Indian army were firm in its demand for an early and complete disengagement of troops by China from all the points in eastern Ladakh, as per sources.
