New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Monday took a swipe at the BJP government over the raise in petrol and diesel prices.
The prices went up by 35 paise a litre and the auto fuels now cost a third more than the rate at which aviation turbine fuel (ATF)/ jet fuel is sold to airlines, reports India Today.
Taking to Twitter, Gandhi posted in Hindi, “The BJP government promised that people wearing ‘hawai chappals’ (sandals) will soon travel in ‘hawai jahaj’ (airplanes). However, fuel prices have increased so much under the Modi government that now it has become difficult for the middle-class to afford to travel by air (sic).”
