Kolkata: Team India coach Ravi Shastri is unlikely to bid for another term after his tenure ends post the ICCT20, according to BCCI sources.
Shastri has already clarified his stance to the BCCI as per sources and his contract won’t be renewed. There are also reports that barring batting coach, Vikram Rathore, the rest of the support staff would also discontinue after the World Cup.
“The board will invite applications for the post of head coach of the Indian team. Selection and interview will be done based on application,” Network 18 reports.
The new support staff will take charge from the South Africa tour starting from December 16 after the T20 World Cup. In fact, the BCCI too is not keen on extending Shastri’s contract which Shastri is aware of.
