Kolkata: He sprang up a surprise defeating the over-towering Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram. But the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari is up for bigger challenges as he is ready to lock horns with the West Bengal chief minister once again in the bypoll to the Bhabanipur seat.
“I wouldn’t shirk responsibilities. If my party wants, I am ready to take her on once again,” said the BJP leader as reported by the online edition of ABP.
The Election Commission of India recently scheduled the bypoll date for the Bhabanipur seat to September 30. The TMC on Sunday officially announced Banerjee’s name as the candidate for the high-voltage constituency.
Meanwhile, Adhikari who was summoned by state CID to appear for questioning over the alleged murder of his former security staff, would skip the appearance as of now.
