Renowned Indian-American Physician Ajay Lodha Dies From COVID Complications

New York: Renowned Indian-American physician Dr Ajay Lodha, after an eight-month-long battle against COVID-19, has passed away on November 21.

The former president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), the 58-year-old breathed his last in peace after fighting against the virus-related complicacy at the Cleveland Clinic.

Ajay was a graduate of RNT Medical College in Udaipur and was an internist by profession. He completed his Residency at the Flushing Hospital in New York and later became the founder and president of Queens Medical Services. He was also a partner in Hillaire and Nesconset Nursing House.

AAPI President Sudhakar Jonnalagadda expressed grief at the passing of the esteemed leader and said his death is ”the darkest day in AAPI history”.

Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje also condoled Ajay’s demise by recalling his enormous contribution to the diaspora, especially the Rajasthani community, in the US.

In honour of its great leader, an AAPI Lodha Distinguished Service Award through ‘GOFUNDME’ is also being created.
