New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav will be in Kolkata today and is likely to hold a meeting with TMC Chairperson Mamata Banerjee during his visit.
The RJD leader’s expected time of arrival in West Bengal is 12 noon and his meeting with Mamata is likely to take place at 4 pm at her Kalighat residence.
According to reports, RJD is planning to forge an alliance with the TMC.
Earlier, Yadav, younger son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, had said his party will contest the upcoming Assam Assembly polls with the “like-minded” parties.
“There are around five per cent Hindi-speaking people from Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. We have a considerable number of such people in 11 seats, but we’ll contest only where chances of winning are high,” he added.
