Mumbai: Opener Rohit Sharma was appointed captain of India’s One-day International team on Wednesday. He took over from Virat Kohli.
He was also appointed the vice-captain in Tests, replacing out-of-form Ajinkya Rahane. Rohit was appointed captain of the T20I team last month, ahead of the home series against New Zealand.
Kohli had quit India’s T20I captaincy at the end of the ICC T20 World Cup.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the decision along with the 18-member squad for the upcoming three-Test series against South Africa.
