New Delhi: The Indian rupee further weakened on Monday to close at an all-time low of 77.44 after breaking the earlier record of 77.05 against the American dollar.
According to news agency PTI, the Indian currency has plunged 54 paise to a new record low of 77.44, from 76.90 against the US dollar.
The rupee opened lower at 77.17 against the greenback at the interbank foreign exchange market. It finally settled at 77.50, down 60 paise over its previous close, on Monday. The rupee reached its lifetime low of 77.52 during the trading session.
