New Delhi: President of the Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar threw a prediction on Sunday that, in the upcoming elections barring the state of Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to lose the Assembly elections in all the other three States and as well as the Union Territory.
In a statement to the media, he stated that his prediction and assessment is based on ground level situations and on reports emerging from the States and UT.
Addressing the situation in West Bengal he commented that the BJP Government at the centre has been “grossly abusing its power” to constantly target TMC and the West Bengal Chief Minister, who has been single handedly fighting for the people of her State.
TMC has been fighting a battle with its own self and its internal chaos and former associates of the party constantly leaving the party for better personal prospects. Mr.Pawar further stated that, “The people of West Bengal are self-respecting. If anyone tries to attack the Bengali culture and pride, the whole state will stand up unitedly and retaliate.”
He remained confident of the fact that no matter what occurs, Mamata Banerjee will hold onto her position of power.
While discussing the situation in Kerala, he stated that the NCP is in alliance with the LDF there and is confident enough of attaining majority in the upcoming elections to retain their power. In Tamil Nadu, the opposition DMK and their chief MK Stalin has been gathering the support of the public and is set to uproot the current ruling party of AIADMK.
According to Pawar, DMK has the full support of the people of Tamil Nadu. Whereas the situation in Assam seemed something different, where BJP is already in power and is currently holding a good position over any other opposition and can be assumed that it will hold onto its power even in this election.
The assembly elections are scheduled to begin for Assam and West Bengal from 27th March while Kerala,Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will inaugurate the voting sessions from April 6th.
The counting for all the five polls would be held on 2nd May 2021. The election this time is very hot with winds flowing in every direction. Every party has a dominant hand this time in all the States, and it is to be seen who comes out on the top.
